Tired of your usual dinner and movie for date night? Looking for a fun event for a party? When you are scrolling Facebook, have you seen those painting events around town? Have you thought ‘I would like to do that someday’, then you just continue scrolling. I’m here to tell you next time stop and get more information!

First there are a few different places that you can do this with, like Grape Van Gogh in Idaho Falls and Pocatello – you go to their studio, just check the calendar and the painting and choose your night. You can also book for a party or group.

There is another business that is the Art of Hoppiness (nope no misspelling). They hold their mobile painting events with a craft beer theme, and are held at local tap houses, and brewpubs. They also have events at restaurants that are available to under 21, just make sure to check the details for each event for age restrictions.  Note: they also can come to your place of business or party for your own event.

One day as I scrolled thru Facebook, I saw an event and the specific painting for the event. So, I booked it for my Hubs and I. Now, I know a lot of people are thinking, ‘my husband would never do that’, here is the funny thing, after we posted about our painting night, my Hubs got all kinds of messages from guys about getting more details and how they wanted to do it also! We booked thru the Art of Hoppiness, for one of their tap house events, now we don’t drink but decided to go with it anyway. We had so much fun and want to do it again and are even thinking about getting the family together to do one.

No artistic talent is required, the instructor is so good at explaining every step, along with showing each step. Another great part of the evening was seeing everyone’s interpretation of the process. Every painting was different, every painting unique and every one of them amazing. We met so many people and just enjoyed the evening.

Honestly, it was one of our best date nights in a long time, and we’re making plans for a family event this summer. My SIL said ‘oh my husband will not do that’, and I’m like he was one of the first messages the Hubs got! Don’t assume who would and wouldn’t enjoy this. You will be surprised.

Give it a try yourself!
